Our Work
Over the years of working with children in different settings and from different socio-economic backgrounds, Dil Se came across multiple cases of child sexual abuse. It was a delicate topic that was not being addressed with ease. We took an interest as to why this was and started to understand the stigma and taboo this CSA held. Without too much ado, Dil Se decided to take up the challenge of helping rid the world of child sexual abuse.

Our Programs
When it comes to Awareness of Child Sexual Abuse, we believe that we should start by educating the adults. Only then, if a child chooses to disclose a situation of abuse, will the adult be prepared to listen, to believe and to know how to handle the next steps.
We take our Prevention programs to schools, hospitals, police stations, apartment blocks, sports associations, anganwadis, ASHA workers, and any other place that adults would come together as a group.

Prevention
A primary prevention approach to child sexual abuse and exploitation promotes safe, healthy environments and behaviors, reducing the likelihood of abuse in the first place.

Dil SE Children's Home
A typical Keralan house was acquired to provide underprivileged children with a safe and loving environment to grow in. The children's home, called Dil Se, was run by local staff under Swiss management, with the support of international volunteers. Over 12 years we took care of nearly 30 children but on average, 12 children lived there—some were orphans, while others came from poor or abusive families.
Tejus Home
Started in November 2012, Tejus Home was a home for abused, pregnant teenagers. It was located in Ernakulam district in Kerala and was probably the only home of its kind in India. Tejus Home was a partnership between Dil Se and Birth for Change.
